Protected-cove sound beach in Dennis Port
A compact sound-side beach in Dennis Port with warm water and a neighborhood feel. Jetties on either side create a protected swimming area.
Sea Street Beach is the central Dennis Port sound-side beach, slightly more developed than its neighborhood-pocket neighbors. Two stone jetties flank a protected swimming cove, which keeps the already-gentle Nantucket Sound waves to nothing and makes this a particularly good toddler beach. The water in August is reliably in the mid-70s — warmer than any of the bay beaches across town. There's a small parking lot, portable restrooms in season, and an ice-cream stand a block up Sea Street. No lifeguards most days, no concessions on the beach itself. The walk down from the lot is short and largely flat. Pair with dinner in Dennis Port and a sunset chair at one of the bay beaches and you've got the full peninsular Cape Cod day.
