East Dennis Port pocket beach on the Sound
A small neighborhood beach on Nantucket Sound in Dennis Port. Not flashy, but warm water and easy access make it a solid family option.
Inman Road Beach sits at the eastern end of Dennis Port's chain of pocket sound-side beaches, near the Harwich line. Like its neighbors, it's small and unfussy — a wedge of soft sand wedged between dunes and the warm waters of Nantucket Sound. The Sound here is much warmer than Cape Cod Bay across the peninsula, often pushing into the mid-70s in August, and the waves are gentle and rolling. Parking is for residents and sticker-holders; the lot holds about twenty cars and fills quickly on hot weekends. There are no restrooms, no lifeguards, no concessions. Inman is the kind of beach you walk to from a rental cottage with a chair and a paperback, not the kind you drive an hour to.
